SCHOOLS INVESTMENT PROGRAMME WEB PAGES LAUNCHED
Stromness Primary School is one of the projects involved in the Schools Investment Programme for which the council has launched brand new web pages
Orkney Islands Council has launched brand new web pages to keep the public up to date on what’s happening with the Schools Investment Programme.
The Schools Investment Programme will see a brand new Kirkwall Grammar School, Stromness Primary School, residential hostel and swimming pool built.
The pages offer the public an opportunity to comment on how they would like the new facilities to look. Slide show presentations have been created of pictures taken on visits to other new buildings across the UK and the public can get in touch with the project team to say which aspects they like and which they don’t. This will then feed into the final design process.
There is also a project team diary which will be updated monthly, a question and answer section and information on the workshops that have taken place with pupils and hostel residents.
Alan Moar, Project Manager for the Schools Investment Programme said: “Given the importance of these projects to Orkney, we wanted to make sure that there was a resource available for the public to be kept up to date on what was happening and give them a way of putting their own views across.
“We felt that the Council’s recently updated website offered an ideal opportunity to do this. The pages will be updated on a regular basis and we hope that the public will keep on coming back for a look.”
