For the first time, visitors to the CLA Game Fair which took place in Romsey, Hampshire in July 2006, had the opportunity to visit the Orkney village, which has proved a popular feature at the Royal Bath and West Show in Somerset.
The Orkney village was constructed there to provide a small taste of Orkney and what our islands have to offer.
The village at this event featured mainly our food producers - with their ranges of Omega-3 rich marinaded herring and other seafood products, smoked and unsmoked Orkney cheeses, Orkney beef and lamb, etc.
Traditional Orkney chair maker, Fraser Anderson represented our craft sector on this occasion, showing his range of traditional furniture.
And for those considering a trip to Orkney to see what it has to offer at first hand, Visit Orkney were there to let visitors know what there is to see and do and how to get here. |
